The latest development in what has become quite a hot-button issue, the TSA is considering more changes to the way passengers are screened before being allowed into airport terminals.

Changes may include letting frequent travelers, infants and the elderly, and passengers willing to provide certain personal information go through a less rigorous security process, allowing staff to focus on higher-risk passengers.

These changes won’t arrive in time to speed up the process for the busy holiday season ahead, but should be coming to a security line near you some time in 2012.
